Our Staff

Southern Youth and Family Services (SYFS) employs approximately one hundred staff including casual staff.  SYFS also utilises volunteers. In general, the Staff have an extensive history of working with young people who are vulnerable, disadvantaged and homeless including those at risk of vulnerability, disadvantage and homelessness and their families. Together as a team they work to bring their combined life experiences, training, qualifications and experience to the job in a way that creates positive change for the young people and families.The Staff and Volunteers have a wealth of experience across many professional disciplines. These different disciplines of work include:

  • Youth Workers - Residential and Outreach Youth Workers including Tenancy Managers, brokerage Workers, Case Managers, Case Workers
  • Management - CEO, General Manager, Operations Manager, Prorgram Managers and Co-ordinators
  • Administration - Accountants, Book-keepers, Clerical and adminsitration Staff,  Media and communication
  • Counselling and Family Work - Psychologists, Social Workers, Counsellors, Family and adolescent Counsellors, Mental Health Support Workers
  • Health - Nurse Specialists, Dietitian, Physical Education and Exercise Trainers, Health Workers
  • Education - Teachers, Trainers including Numeracy and Literacy Trainers
  • Maintenance - Builders, Maintenance Staff
