Family Support Service (Juvenile Justice)

This program provides up to 3 months of intensive case management, support to young people and families where the young person is involved with the Juvenile Justice System.

This is a closed referral program with referrals taken from the Department of Juvenile Justice.

The Service also provides:

  • Assessment
  • Living/social skills education referral
  • Advocacy intensive support
  • Information
  • Budgeting
  • Mediation and family support
  • Access to Work and Development Orders (WDO)

WDO's allow eligible young people to work off their fines by attending programs such as education and training, counselling, living and social skills programs and other positive initiatives. WDO are an initiative of the State Debt Recovery Office (SDRO) and SYFS has been authorised by the SDRO to oversee WDOs.

The Juvenile Justice Family Support Service is funded by the NSW Department of Human Services, Juvenile Justice
