Baby CHAIN provides a range of health services to young mothers and their children and young pregnant women aged from 12 to 24 years of age (inclusive) who may be vulnerable, disadvantaged and homeless or at risk of disadvantage and homelessness.IMG 0658

Baby CHAIN provides the following services:

  • appointment and support from a trained midwife for antenatal care
  • liaison with maternity services at the hospital for full booking history and other pregnancy care support when required
  • referrals to Specialists, Obstetricians and other services, information and advocacy
  • living and social skills education, healthy behaviours and skills, birthing education, birthing classes (available in Wollongong and Shellharbour)
  • practical assistance including transport
  • general support and advice
  • a health promotion and education program schedule for the Young Mum's Group based on improving self-esteem and improved social networks
  • ongoing advice and assistance in parenting skillsChain first time mums group 21
  • treatment in relation to various medical needs, including reproductive health
  • provision of material resources including baby clothing and other health products for pregnant women.
