Supportive Independent Living (SIL)

The Southern Youth and Family Services (SYFS) provide supported independent living programs to young adults aged 18 to 24 years in Wollongong and the Illawarra.

We seek to support young adults in transitioning to independent living by helping to develop the living and social skills required to live alone.

Through our programs, you can access suitable, sustainable, and secure accommodation, and successfully live an independent and happy life.

How our program supports you to:

  • Find and apply for an appropriate living space
  • Live and maintain your own living space
  • Practice good hygiene and eating habits
  • Manage finances for living such as rent.
