Four awards for academic excellence
Congratulation to SYFS Staff member Maddison who recently was awarded four awards for academic excellence at the recent TAFE NSW awards. As well as being named student of the year, she was also recognised as trainee of the year, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student of the year, and the technology and business services student of the year
Maddison has always been keen to learn and strive to do well, she started casual work with SYFS in 2019 and quickly showed she has a ‘can do attitude’. She was successful in applying for and gaining a Traineeship in Business Administration with SYFS and started in 2020. However 2020 through up many challenges for everyone and in particular Maddison who spent more than 5 weeks in hospital with complications with the birth of her first child. Through all challenges, hurdles and lockdowns Maddison still continued to stay ahead with her studies and was back at work early than expected.
Maddison successfully completed her Traineeship at the end of 2020 and continues to work at Southern Youth and Family Services as an administration assistant and youth worker.
We would like acknowledge all the hard word work and dedication Maddison has shown over the last 18 months and wish her every success in her career.
